Saturday Evening
Community Potluck Dinner, Saturday 6PM
The Anderson Valley Foodshed Group will be bringing Pork and Lamb Bar-B-Q, Birria, Rice and Beans to the potluck.
Please bring a meat or vegetarian dish, salad, bread, condiment or dessert to share. And make a label for your dish that lists the ingredients so people with diet limitations can see if it works for them.
Although we do not require people to use local ingredients, its always fun to see all the different dishes that can be created using all or some local foods.
We can‘t provide refrigeration or a stove for cooking or heating for your dish, but there will be a safe place to leave it (bring an ice chest if it needs to stay cold) until dinnertime.
Bring Your Own Place Setting
It has become a Anderson Valley Foodshed tradition to bring our own place settings to Local Food Potlucks in order to save resources, limit the amount of stuff we send to the landfill and help ourselves develop the habit of using our own dishes for take out food as well as potlucks.
We will have a dish-washing station.
We will also be selling acacia wood plates and bowls, bamboo plates, knives, forks and spoons for people who forget to BYO. But we will not be supplying paper plates or plastic wear.
Musical Entertainment: PURA VIDA!
Salsa band PURA VIDA brings the hot Latin sound of Afro-Caribbean music to northern California. The show includes traditional Cuban rumba, mambo, and chachacha, as well as cumbia from South America and samba from Brazil.
PURA VIDA was recently voted Best Local Talent in Ukiah, California, where they played to a crowd of over a thousand. They have played for weddings, wineries private parties, and clubs all over Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, all to rave reviews. Jorge Gomez’ spontaneous and genuine vocals blend with veteran Bay Area congero Amunka Davila’s percussion section to make the perfect choice to bring the crowd together.
